What is CloudWatch Database Insights?
This is CloudWatch's integrated database monitoring feature, which is the successor to RDS Performance Insights, and has almost the same functionality as Performance Insights.
When I published the following blog post in June last year,November 30, 2025Performance Insights was scheduled to be discontinued and completely migrated to Database Insights in , but this was postponed without anyone noticing.
When you open the Performance Insights screen, the following announcement appears:

The Performance Insights database load documentation clearly states that DB load is collected every second, as shown below:

but when I contacted support,Database Insights also captures DB load values every second.I received the following answer.
Conclusion
There are about four months left until Performance Insights is discontinued, but it would be great if we could see the number of seconds in Database Insights by then...!
