We held an AWS GameDay for the CyberAgent Group!
Introduction
#SRGThe Service Reliability Group primarily provides comprehensive support for the infrastructure surrounding our media services, focusing on improving existing services, launching new ones, and contributing to open-source software (OSS).
This article is a report on the AWS GameDay held for CyberAgent Group companies for the first time in four years. Although it is an event report, it will not cover the details of the AWS GameDay competitions. (This is because I cannot write about them in order to spoil the experience for future participants.) More than 130 engineers from 23 business units and group companies participated in this event.
What is AWS GameDay?
AWS GameDayThis is an event held annually at AWS re:Invent.Team competitionThis is a game-style event where participants compete for the highest score. This time, teams consisted of 3-4 people, and 33 teams competed for the highest score. Unlike typical lectures or hands-on sessions, AWS GameDay allows participants to compete in a real environment built on AWS.DevOpsThis will be a practical, hands-on workshop. In order to achieve a good score, team members will work together.Communication and cooperationThis will be necessary. And above allEnjoying it is importantis!

The introduction included an explanation of the competition format and a greeting from the president of Unicorn Rental to the new employees.
As soon as the explanation was finished, the competition began. I think the three hours flew by for the participants! Just like last time, it was a neck-and-neck race with the top positions changing hands until the very end, making it incredibly exciting!
At the awards ceremony, the winning teams (1st to 3rd place) were announced and their prizes were presented. Once again, Miyukki_funny_friends took first place! (Their dedication was incredible, even from the preparation stage, including bringing their own monitors.)
Although it didn't affect the final rankings, we were also delighted to have current AWS employees participate, which made the event very exciting!
In conclusion
I am truly grateful to AWS for their cooperation in making this event possible, and to everyone who participated. Personally, I was happy that we were able to hold an offline event this time, as it had been four years since the last one. At the social gathering after the event,"I want to participate again, so please do it again next year." "It was fun." "It made me want to study AWS more." "I want to recommend it to others." "It was great to interact with people I don't usually have contact with."We received many comments like these, so I think we were able to create an event that was highly satisfying for the participants.
