The standard support end date for Aurora MySQL version 2 (end of October 2024) is fast approaching! ...But actually, there's a little bit of leeway left.

This article summarizes the fact that while there's only a short time left until the standard support end date for Aurora MySQL version 2, there's actually still a one-month grace period.

Standard support for Aurora MySQL version 2 ends on October 31, 2024.


The standard support end date for Aurora MySQL version 2 is October 31, 2024.
If you were running a version 2 environment before November 1st, you will automatically be eligible for paid extended support.
Extended support for Aurora MySQL is available until February 2027 at the latest, but be aware that there will be charges depending on the number of vCPUs.
 

Extended support charges will begin billing from December 1st.


 
While looking through the official documentation regarding support end dates, I came across a sentence that caught my attention.

Amazon RDS Extended Support for Aurora MySQL version 2 will begin on November 1, 2024, but you will not be charged until December 1, 2024. From November 1 to November 30, 2024, all Aurora MySQL version 2 DB clusters will be eligible for Amazon RDS Extended Support.
 
In other words, extended support will begin on November 1st,Billing will begin on December 1st.This means that,
There will be no additional charge if you complete the upgrade to version 2 by November 30th.It seems so.

Let's do our best to get that last-minute upgrade!
